The Magic Circle is a 450-acre area of Bureau of Land Management (BLM) public land where family-friendly nude camping is legally allowed. There are no membership fees or dues because the Magic Circle is not a club or resort but a public camping area. Paid campers are allowed to stay according to their purchased pass from BLM.
Please note, ClothesFree International is not affiliated with the Magic Circle Tent; this is simply a review. However, some of our team members often set up mobile offices there. General Information
The BLM designed area called the Magic Circle, located within LaPosa South LTVA (Long Term Visitors Area), is open for day use for people to enjoy nude sunbathing, hiking, biking, and any approved BLM activity free of charge. There are over 3 miles of hiking trails, clearly marked with rock borders.
To camp within the BLM designed area called the Magic Circle Clothing Optional area, you are required by BLM to have a paid pass AND a minimum 10 Gallon FIXED black tank in your RV. There are no vault toilets within the Magic Circle, and so tent camping and camping without a legal 10-gallon+ FIXED black tank and a paid pass are prohibited by BLM.
Unique Community within the Magic Circle:
Within the boundaries of the Magic Circle, there is an organized group called The MagicCircleAZ, and it is a small private group. MagicCircleAZ's tent and its events are private and not open to the general public. The MagicCircleAZ does set a tent up for activities for their group from October to March annually.
As a legal resident of the Magic Circle you are automatically a member of the tent and can attend events if you chose, or you must be a guest of a legal resident. If you would like to learn more about the group and are in the area, you are invited to attend FREE a 4pm DAILY HAPPY HOUR. Bring your own beverage and a textile to sit on, come in and introduce yourself and learn about the group.
Volunteers run the group and the tent during the season, relying solely on donations. You can support the community by making donations during the 4 PM Happy Hour at the tent.
Rules and Etiquette for the Magic Circle Clothing Optional Area:
• The area adheres to BLM rules. The BLM has requested that we do not go on the roof of our RVs without clothes.
• The BLM has also requested that we stay well within the boundaries of our area when nude.
• Public sexual activity is unacceptable and illegal, as the Magic Circle maintains family-friendly social standards.
• The community welcomes people of all ages, races, religions, political affiliations, and sexual orientations. Respectful behavior is essential to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.

There are no designated campsites—camp anywhere within the Magic Circle boundaries. However, overnight camping is limited to self-contained camping units (e.g., RVs with a permanently affixed 10-gallon or larger wastewater tank). Self-contained camping units must have a permanent affixed waste water holding tank of 10-gallon minimum capacity. BLM does not consider port-a-potty systems, systems that utilize portable holding tanks, or permanent holding tanks of less than 10-gallon capacity, to be self-contained.
